I’m planning a short Bangalore to Coorg road trip soon and was searching for a proper Bangalore to Coorg travel guide because there are so many route suggestions online that it gets confusing.
Most people seem to recommend the Bangalore ? Mysore ? Kushalnagar ? Madikeri route since the roads are smoother and the drive is more scenic overall.
While researching places to visit, I also discovered this Coorg observatory setup which honestly looks quite different from the usual tourist activities there. They seem to do telescope observations, guided night-sky sessions, and astrophotography experiences too.
What surprised me is that many people now visit Coorg not just for coffee estates and weather, but also for dark-sky experiences and stargazing during new moon nights.
Still confused about a few things though:
* best season for clear night skies
* whether winter visibility is better than summer
* ideal stay duration for stargazing
* if phone astrophotography works there
* whether observatory experiences are worth booking for beginners
Would love recommendations from anyone who has recently done a Coorg astronomy or road-trip weekend.
